INCORPORATION

The Motor Insurers' Bureau was incorporated on 22 February 1975 to provide a central fund to compensate victims of road accidents caused by uninsured or untraced drivers. It is a company limited by guarantee which is funded and controlled mainly by motor insurers (including Lloyd's Underwriters) with some government involvement.
