HOW MUCH COMPENSATION DOES MIB PAY?

In 1975, the first year of its operation the Bureau paid compensation totaling $14,100 for 5 claims. In 1998 the Bureau paid compensation of $694,319 for 21 claims. Total compensation paid from 1975 to 1998 amounts to about $15.7 million involving 603 claims. From 1975-1998 "Insurers Concerned" have settled 303 claims titling about $7.8 million.
