ABOUT ASIAN REINSURERS' SUMMIT
|
| In 2001, CEOs of leading Asian reinsurance
companies agreed that in the wake of a changing reinsurance
market, Asian reinsurers should intensify efforts to further
enhance co-operation through optimising reliance upon indigenous
resources, both financial and human, so as to ensure sound
development for Asian reinsurance industry within Asia.
The first inaugural meeting held in the first half of
2001 in China provided the launching platform for Asian
reinsurers to discuss avenues for focused regional co-operation
in an increasingly globalised marketplace. The second
meeting was hosted by Toa Re in 2002, and the third Summit
was hosted by GIC in 2003. The next summit would be hosted
by IndoRe in Indonesia.
